Destination
Dak Lak (or Lak) province is situated in the Central Highlands surrounded by the Annamite mountain range. This region is known for its unspoiled beauty with its primitive forests, jungles, and waterfalls. It is also home to Lak Lake, the largest freshwater lake in the province, and known for its coffee plantations, specifically in Buon Ma Thuot. Lak province is culturally fascinating comprising of numerous ethnic minorities whose origins trace back to the Champa Kingdom.
How to get here:
- 1-hr flight from Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, and Danang to Buon Ma Thuot followed by 1hr drive to Lien Son Town for boat transfer to the tented camp

Program Activities
Culture Village Walk
Explore the village life on a walk to the M’Lieng village, home to the M’Nong ethnic minority peoples. Enjoy the natural beauty of rice paddy fields with water buffaloes while learning about farming and coffee plantations. Visit a local village and be invited into a typical long house with the opportunity to interact with the family gaining insight into communal life and their unique matriarchy culture. 3hrs / 6km walk
Trek to Waterfall
Located 7km from Lak Tented Camp, the Bim Bip waterfall is located at the foothills of the Chu Yang Sin mountain range. A 2km scenic trek passes through the lush forest of fascinating local flora and fauna before arriving at this hidden waterfall. Enjoy a picnic lunch and take a refreshing swim in the clear pools. 3hrs / 4km trek
Biking to Remote Villages
Take in the beautiful scenery of the mountain range and paddy fields while pedaling on dirt roads towards Yang Tao village. On the way observe farmers tending to their crops and herds of buffaloes and cows. Biking on foot trails leads you to the remote villages of Buon D’rung and Buon Cuor village, home to families of potters and basket weavers. Interact with the local people in their long house and join them for traditional wine drunken from a large jar and try your hand at playing a gong. 4hrs / 8-12km biking
